Alright so here is the lineart I'll be working on, you guys can color it if you want, take in mind it's a bit of a big file. I'll be putting my own background and crap like that in it.
Have fun!!
P.S. If you do color this, credit me on the lines and link it back here, DO NOT REMOVE MY SIGNATURE!!!
God I keep forgetting to add things to this
and by the way, it is Elyza, and two other characters whom I haven't named yet, feel free to help me name them!
Yes, I'm one of those people who isn't fond of drawing a lot of fanart (even though I have fav'd a lot) I really like originals better. But I'm glad that people like how mine look, so thank you for commenting ^^
On a daily basis, I usually don't care how many views I have. I have the patience to know this due to several years of self teaching and recently being taught by teachers. That and from what I've seen on this site, a lot of page views can bring about a lot of people who will think they know how to critique but in reality do not know the meaning of that word, or it might bring a lot of drama people who don't know when to quit. Which is why I'm content with the people that do watch me, and they appreciate my work for it's quality.
I mean I've been on here for several years now, and of course when I first began if you take a look, my work was crap and I was very sensitive about what people said. As of recently, I've met people who have taught me how to give good critique and have also come across some very nice friends. So even though just doing OCs seems really hard, you get the inner acknowledgment that you made something no one else has. Trust me, it will pay off in the end.
But one word of advice, never stop trying to get better. It's one of the things that motivates me to keep going and find different ways to do things. It's obvious in my gallery that I have and it really does help, especially if you can intertwine it into your drawings. Sometimes you can come up with a very interesting piece of work.
thanks much! i guess i havent been on long enough to make judgements on what gets the most views and whatnot so ill stick my course

Honestly I really only speak my mind when I feel it necessary, and in reality, I don't like talking in front of large crowds of people. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing anime and manga style. I read a crap load of manga and watch a lot of anime, and yes there are a lot of anime styled people on this site. There are some people who take it too far, mostly the over exaggerated types that try to insert themselves into every singe popular anime/manga alive, a.k.a. Mary Sues
And I know exactly what you mean by the college thing, however that is part of the learning experience is to go beyond your comfort zone. I in reality have gotten suggestions and critiques from teachers, giving me an idea of what I could do to make my work look better in the long run, In my first quarter a teacher gave me one suggestion on how to draw eyes better and it really does work, it just takes some time to get used to it. And even now I'm trying to find a good way to draw a body right(especially hands).
You know what I think when I finish a picture? I think to myself okay I know all the mistakes, but those are things I need to keep working at, but what are the good things I did. Recently I've gotten into doing backgrounds, and those are tough! It can be more complicated than just drawing the person. But of course any professional artist will tell you that if you're having trouble with something, look for references or go out and find them in real life. Heck I even look at my hand to see what it might look like if I had it a certain way.
But one of the most important things to remember, is that everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, can be broken down into the basic shapes. It's not uncommon for an artist to just start with a cube or a sphere and basically carve into it the picture they way.
Of course, all the advice I've been saying to you has come from teachers and professionals, and in some cases, from fellow artists. But if you really want to know what is a good critique, flip through my journal section to a journal with a link to see a person who typed up a really good article.
But if you need advice on how to do anything at all, I'm will to try and help.
